Carnival Dream Itinerary, Current Position, Ship Review

Branded Dr. Seuss activities include a once-per-sailing Seuss-a-Palooza Parade that winds its way from the Deck 5 Burgundy Lounge down to the Deck 3 level of the Encore theater. The Cat in the Hat and Things 1 and 2 also make an appearance at the once-per-sailing Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast (see For-Fee Dining). Carnival Dream has two FunHub internet centers (Decks 4 and 5), where cruisers can find several computers for checking email and surfing the internet (including accessing their social media accounts).

Each bar has its own theme, vibe and array of signature drinks, in addition to a full menu of classics. What truly sets Carnival Dream apart from other ships, however, is its service. The crew members seem genuinely happy and interested in making sure passengers have the best vacation possible. In addition, they go above and beyond -- whether that's having your go-to glass of lemonade waiting for you at the main dining room, or guiding you to one of the secret decks so you don't get lost. With this level of attentiveness, it's no surprise Carnival Dream has won the line's internal flagship award for best service, multiple years. Even before its January 2017 makeover -- which welcomed Carnival favorites like Guy's Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, the Alchemy Bar and Bonsai Sushi -- Carnival Dream had a lot to love.

Other Carnival Cruise Line cruise ships

Carnival Cruise Line is fun and affordable cruising for all ages. Plus, when it comes to value, a Carnival cruise is hard to beat, and 2023 & 2024 Carnival Cruises are set to be no exception to this. Waves, the main pool located on Deck 10, is one of the biggest social hot spots on Dream. On a sunny sea day, the pool is crowded with adults sipping drinks and kids splashing around. Throughout the day, the ship's entertainment crew hosts a variety of poolside games, contests and Carnival's signature line dances. Young kids, ages 2 to 5, are going to have a blast with toys and arts and crafts.

Cove Balcony Cabin

All ages enjoy the gaming action the Video Arcade, which is open 24 hours a day. And for the youngest passengers we have our Seuss At Sea programs inspired by the colorful, whimsical world of Dr. Seuss. A huge chunk of the passengers on Carnival Dream drive to their cruise from states all over the southern United States. Ages run the gamut from kids (lots of 'em in the summer!) to folks in their 60s and 70s, though the average age is usually somewhere in the mid-30s to mid-40s.

For example, the Cloud 9 Spa ocean view staterooms feature a view of the walkway — just like the cheaper, interior walkway-view staterooms. Don’t worry, the office isn’t going to be calling you into work tomorrow, so why not try a little bit of everything? Double down in the casino, laugh out loud at a comedy show, sing your heart out at karaoke, take in a larger-than-life stage show, sing at the piano bar, or dance the night away in one of the clubs.

Ships in the Carnival Cruise Line fleet

Dine amidst expertly-pruned bonsai trees while enjoying sit-down service and an affordable menu of delectable sushi and sashimi… plus rolls, soups, sides, sakes and desserts. So the next time you’re taking an onboard stroll, stop at Bonsai Sushi for a little something satisfying. Carnival Dream is without a doubt the perfect ship for a dream vacation to the Caribbean. With so many activities on board you can spend all day having fun or enjoy hours on end doing nothing at all. Add to this all the great dining and drinking options, and it’s clear that there’s no dreamier way to take a vacation.

The menu offers up Mexican favorites, including several brands of tequila and a slew of Mexican brews. There’s a lineup of frozen concoctions, cocktails and margaritas served by the glass or by the pitcher, and even a special Mexican beer cocktail (yes, really). So stay cool and take in the bar’s vacation vibe while you kick back on your cruise – that’s what official bar mascot Blue the Iguana would tell you. With more space for stretching out indoors, plus a large balcony for kicking back outdoors, try an Ocean Suite to experience private, luxurious relaxation. Ocean Suites also include VIP check-in, walk-in closet and bathroom with whirlpool tub.

International dishes and American favorites are served at the two-level main dining rooms, Crimson and Scarlet, where you can dine in beautiful settings. Head to the popular Lido restaurant called The Gathering, which features pizza, burrito and pasta stations, a New York-style deli, Indian Tandoor, Mongolian Wok and more. Classic steakhouse fare is offered at The Chef's Art and savory delicious sushi is offered at Wasabi.

Board a Carnival Journeys cruise and you’re on course for enriching experiences aboard, amazing destinations ashore, classic cruising flair and more. Carnival Dream's two-deck Cloud 9 Spa (Decks 12 and 14) is 23,750 square feet of space dedicated to pampering, relaxation and fitness. At the spa, you'll find the usual array of treatments from massages (Swedish, bamboo, Thai poultice, hot stone) and facials (tri-enzyme, hydralift, microdermabrasion) to wraps, scrubs and ionithermie detox sessions.

We found this to be a great little spot to escape the pool crowds. You'll find a multitude of chirping slot and electronic poker machines, as well as blackjack, craps, roulette, Texas Hold'em and Let It Ride poker tables. The casino bar features a small stage for nightly live music. Play at a table long enough, and the pit boss will usually offer you free drinks.

These staterooms have 50% larger balconies, 3 closets (in all grades balcony rooms), full bathroom (shower). Cove Balcony cabins feature floor-ceiling window doors leading to a private cove (partially enclosed) veranda. Live the dream on Carnival Cruise Line's 130,000-ton, 3,690-guest Carnival Dream. Exciting amenities and activities, a host of enticing dining choices and spacious accommodations make her a perfect choice for a multigenerational cruise vacation. Stroll along the promenade, a 20-foot wide outdoor walkway with an outdoor seating area that opens up to one of the ship's highlights — Ocean Plaza, filled with live music, dancing, bars, and a variety of food venues.

This design helps ensure noise from the fitness center does not disturb passengers in treatment rooms. Other popular spots at night are the atrium, Ocean Plaza, (entertainment hub on Deck 5 for live music), Sam's Piano Bar for sessions of sing-along piano tunes, and The Song karaoke lounge. Carnival Dream is jam-packed with stuff to do during the day, even on port days. You'll find equal amounts of fun outside on the Lido Deck, near the main swimming pool, as well as inside (usually centered on the Deck 3 atrium or Deck 5 Ocean Plaza).
